I recently received, rather quickly, my Oscar Schmidt OU9 Tenor Bocote ukulele and I will say it is a great buy! I have other OS ukuleles and enjoy them all. They are a little quieter than other ukes I've tried, but I rather like that. I like the slightly narrow nut width, I have short fingers, and this helps out with many chord shapes. A couple of frets needed a little work, but overall setup out of the box was solid. FYI, Pretty much all ukes need a little setup out of the box. The Aquila strings they come with are good, but not my favorites. Try different strings and find the ones you like most. The Bocote wood is very striking and the rope binding framed the uke very nicely. Oscar Schmidt is a solid brand, a good value, and you won't go wrong with any of their many models.I liked the appearance with the rope binding however it sounds is what it is all about. The intonation is good but the projection seems stunted. Perhaps different strings would help. I use this as a “loaner” oo koo leh lay in a beginning ukulele class.I love the looks of this ukulele it's well made, it has a very warm tone and sounds very nice when played. The more I play it the more it seems to open up. I love this ukulele
