So I love my centurion ! Luckily mine came out of box with great intonation, new strings and and thing is amazingI like everything about this electric ukulele. It looks stunning, feels good in my hands and the humbucker pickups sound great. However when you get this ukulele shipped directly from Amazon distribution, the intonation and string height was horrible. If I tried to play this use straight out of the box, it would sound horrible. But because this use has an adjustable saddle, it is relatively easy to get the intonation right and the notes sounding good up and down the fretboard. If you haven't done this yourself before, just search for "intonation setup guitar" on YouTube and with an Allen wrench and Philips head screwdriver, you can fix the intonation yourself in 5 minutes.Very well worth every bit of money I spent on it. I will enjoy this for a long time to come. The sound is astonishing and the weight is great. You can make this jewel sound like a ukulele or an electric guitar. Kick back and enjoy!Love my Les Paul-style Gold Top Flight Centurian solid body Tenor ukulele. Other than the F-holes, lack of pick-gaurd and placement of the switcher it resembles my Ibanez AF75D Les Paul-style electric guitar and it has a simular sound and tone as well. I lucked out. in that mine did not need a whole lot of setup out of the box other than better strings (D'Addario NYXL 10-52) I play mine out of my Vox AD30VT solid state/tube hybrid and sometimes out of my Boss Katana Mini. It is like a tiny Gibson guitar. That might put some people off as it does not have the twangy sound of a typical acoustic or acoustic-electric ukulele. But, i like it. My only other minor complaint is the pickup switcher being so tiny and thin. But those two complaints - the strings and the switcher - are minor things. Over all I am very happy with this ukulele. This ukulele is great for blues and any instances where you are playing lead/solos with a band. It has a lot of features or the price.Pretty happy when I unboxed it as it has a nice finish and looks cool. But really unhappy after tuning it. Just tuning it took some doing as the strings stretched forever and the tuning is really sensitive. But tuned it and played a couple cords and yikes! So sour they didn't sound like cords at all. So pretty disappointed that it wasn't at least factory setup. Really weak quality control. Because if they had actually tried to set the intonation they would have found that it can't be set properly. That's because the zero fret right by the nut has a bow to it where it wasn't pressed into the neck properly. It's holds the strings too high so no matter how I adjusted the saddles the first couple frets are way off and it gets a little better down the neck. You can see the bow and the gap under the fret in the picture. I might have been able to press the fret down to flatten it or have it done by a pro. But this was $300 and what company doesn't setup and QC their instruments? That's also the reason I'm returning and not replacing, If this wasn't setup properly why should I expect another one will be? Also besides nothing being in tune the sound was just not very nice. It's sounds thin regardless of settings and doesn't ring very clearly. Good strings might help that. If you put a capo on the 5th fret of a guitar you get ukulele tuning on the bottom four strings and can play them like an uke. I do that with my Les Paul and the effective scale length is one inch longer than this uke. The tone is similar but the guitar sounds much fuller with a much clearer ring. I was hoping for a similar sound from this uke but it's not close. Not exactly apples to apples but I don't have any other electric ukes to compare the sound to.I played around with a multi effects pedal and found I could hear a little static when touching the strings with high gain effects.Maybe a weak bridge ground or something. Again a proper QC would have revealed this also. It's really too bad as it's a cool looking uke and Flight has some other interesting ukes but I won't trust the brand anymore. If it had been $100 less I would have tried to fix it and hung it on the wall regardless of the tone quality. But the fact that it left the factory in this shape left too much of a sour taste in my mouth as well as sour notes in my ear.The best mass produced solid body uke availableBeautiful and plays like it looks very nice instrument ????I purchased this Flight Pathfinder solid body electric ukulele for playing lead Solos and Riffs in Our Local Ukulele Group which I had been doing for a while on a semi acoustic ukulele but found that playing nygut or polycarbonate strings a bit difficult on faster numbers. The first thing that impressed me was the build quality which is excellent and unlike some other solid body ukuleles all the parts seem custom made and in proportion to the rest of the ukulele, I had been considering buying one by another manufacturer but I was put off by the use of standard guitar parts on their instruments which look clearly out of proportion to the scaled down size of the ukulele and so I decided that for only a few £1s more the Flight Pathfinder had so much more to offer in style and Quality. The Narrow Maple Neck is really smooth and easy to play plus the frets are dressed nicely. There are also finger positioning dots on the top side of the frets as well as the top. The Sound from Single Coil pick-up has a nice vintage sound and Humbucker is Good too N.B.The Only Problem I have and this is my reason for only giving it four stars is that if you purchase one don’t expect to be able to play it straight out of the box! you will need to get the action lowered, string intonation adjusted and the Pick Ups raised by a professional unless you are experience in setting up guitars/ukuleles? Fortunately I have been playing electric guitars for nearly 50 years and found this relatively easy but another point to note is that to lower the action (the string height) you will need a smaller Alan Key/Wrench as the one supplied is too big! I also had to raise the Pick Ups to be very near the strings as I found there was a considerable lack in volume when playing through my Boss Microcube practice amplifier which may not be so much of an issue with a more powerful amp. but now all has been adjusted I am very pleased with the playability and sound from this lovely little instrument. The uke actually looks a lot better in the flesh than in the pictures, so I was pleasantly surprised. It plays great and feels good to play. The tuners are a disappointment though. I find them to be tight and sensitive one moment, then slack and relatively unresponsive the next. Once tuned though it's a blast. This wonderful ukulele is great for blues and rock with overdrive, only works plugged in, and sounds more like a guitar than a ukulele. It's not really suitable for a beginner or uke club playing. My arthritis means I cannot play guitar any more, but I can play this with the shorter string length. Great quality. Wow.N'hésitez pas si vous souhaitez un bel instrument haut de gamme !
