Flight's DUS440 Acacia is a soprano ukulele made from acacia. Acacia is the traditional choice of wood for making ukuleles, so if you're looking for the real island sound, and at an affordable price, this is the uke for you! This ukulele has satin finish, which is very nice to the touch. The neck and fingerboard of the DUS440 are made from African okoume and Walnut. It's a great combination that guarantees a stable intonation across the fretboard, is gentle to your hands, and looks great as well. The nut may be a small component, but one that determines the pitch of the sound. The nut and saddle of the DUS440 are made from bone (not from plastic). Just one of the details that make this ukulele truly special. This ukulele features a carefully-designed headstock fitted with classy golden tuners that will always stay in tune. Light and stylish, yet offering excellent protection for your ukulele, Flight gigbags have already become legendary and with one hanging off your shoulder you will definitely make heads turn.

Has a lovely deep voice! Not what I normally hear from a soprano. Good reverb, and feel the vibes the entire length of the neck and over entire body. Have 11 ukes, and this is my fave. Required no set up. Intonation good. I don't normally like the strings that come on it, but this was uke was well thought out! I bought other strings to put on it when it arrived, and a low G. Cant bring myself to change its unique sound! It has a big, deep voice, and I didn't think I would choose a soprano for my fave, but this is something special. All my other sopranos r now idle. Fret board wood feels good under my fingers, and is a nice contrast with the amara. Downsides: bag isn't the worst, but is nothing to write home about. I'm so ridiculously bonded with this uke that I bought it a hard case! Downers: there were issues with the inlays on the fret board. One is defective. Missing the pearl look. I see wood and black. Sent for an exchange. Glad UPS messed up on the pick up of the first uke, as the second had several cosmetic blemishes on the laminate. These were not warehouse returns, but were from the main page and they are not what I expected from Flight. Two chips by the sound hole on the exchange uke, and imperfections where top laminate met side laminate, and glue where the fretboard met the body, in two places. Exchange uke was higher pitched and had less resonance.Considering the Amazon price was $100 less than normal on both, I am ok with the inlay imperfection. I'm playing for sound. But the second, no. Not even at discounted price. And yes, I would grab this uke as I ran from a burning building. I like it that much, but in all honesty, go over your uke carefully, and look for issues, before you get attached. If perfect, well worth $169 price, but make sure it's A OK bet u pull off tags and toss out boxes. I have a Flight Slovenia, and it had absolutely no issues, but again, check for quality. Uke on!
