This is my cat's new favorite toy. It's the only toy that I've bought fir her that she actually plays with, and it saves my arm from constantly having to wiggle a string for her. However, the string keeps getting caught. It's easy to to get it unstuck, but if you walk away and you hear that it isn't running, it's easy to forget to make sure it's off and then it drains the battery. I've had to change the batteries on it twice this month because. I've had to purchase a bulk pack of generic AA batteries to make sure that her new favorite toy isn't without power because she would be devastated. We have two large Main Coon cats. They literally destroy both of these within a couple of weeks, I wish the motor/drive assembly were serviceable, as it is they need to be thrown away before their anticipated life time.I love this toy. My cats lose their minds over this toy. I don’t always leave it on, and sometimes I get some dirty looks. But, the batteries. Yikes. That's the only thing I don't love about this toy. My cats could care less about the batteries. They wanna play! Lol?I have 2 cats. One absolutely loves it, the other could care less. I've bought at least 6 of these so far. The one who loves it sleeps with it running every night. Unfortunately for me that means having to buy a lot of batteries. My only issue is that sometimes the string gets caught and it stops running. It also has to be cleaned since dust and hair can get stuck and prevents it from runningI have purchased this 4 times, twice for myself and twice for gifts. This is excellent for addressing boredom! My cats and fosters have ALL adored this toy.Durability is great. Design is cute. It’s stable against the door. And the best part is that my kittens couldn’t get enough of it. They were so busy looking to see where it went that they would forget each time when it came back around and plopped on their heads again. If one thing. Could be changed-I’d vote for a timed shit off optionOne of my cats is obsessed with this toy and he is not a 'toy' / 'play' cat, he sits by the door staring until it gets hung up and turned on. I have to put it away in the box regularly as he loves it so much he tries to play with it even when its off which makes me worried that the conveyor thingy and string may snap!Would feel better knowing there was a way to buy a replacement conveyor/string thing - when it eventually breaks it'll be another £20+. I guess it's worth it though as it's the only toy he will play with.My other cat is not interested as he prefers toy mice to kill. :)Simple design, white elastic goes around like a treadmill with the string attached at a single point so it falls out of the system in a wiggly manner. Does not actually fling anything the string just falls out of the top and wiggles down enticing the cat. Originally, when the string got pulled by my cat, and it moved the elastic against the motors direction, there was a loud high-pitched whirring noise which scared my cat into not using it for a week or so, we had to encourage her to play with it and now it doesn’t seem to make the whirring noise and my cat likes it. If your cat is afraid of noises like this I would not necessarily recommend. This isn’t a toy that my cat will play with for hours, it’s more useful as a 10 minute “please leave me alone while I use the bathroom” toy. It’s also not very active as the general stance my cat takes is laying on her back and batting at the string as it drags by her (it is not like that cat leaping in the photo). My cat is around 1 year and is very playful for feathers. I am happy that I bought this toy but in no way beats a feather on a string being dragged around.
