For the above average to exceptional characteristics engineered by ÉMĠs to in this case a bass guitar player are in my opinion the most versatile, goose bump creating tone and their adept at what can be equally important, silence or lack of any electronics creating or amplifying unintended or static type noises, they are, as I am sure you’ve researched relatively basic to install for anyone with some wiring or technical skills. I only had one small bit of soldering the rest was EMGs solderless push connects. Take your time and double check your connections (that they are good and snug and not creating any unwanted noise).Buyer beware I ordered a set for a 5 string ltd ap-5 which as an aside came OEM, and received everything I ordered minus the 5 string jazz pickup. I already had one but that’s not the point, they sent a 4 string one in its place but it was not an accident, I waited through a small back order for them to arrive, I hope no on is trying to keep their seller rating because had I not needed to play that instrument shortly after the package arrived I definitely would have sent back. I’ll end up buying an eq and putting them one my only other pj 4 string is a fretless that has nice tone now I’ll see if I can spice it up just a click or two. EMG 4.5 stars whoever the seller is really ought to try selling what is advertised, I am sure had this been a 4.5 star x 2 review I would have been a lifetime customer. EMG I hope we are both around for a few more generations! An example of how quality materials and electronics in the right hands can level up an “instrumental talent” talent a little strong but sound quality and playability make me want to play more which in turn, imagined or not I sound better and feel better about playing with and around others.
