I used to play solely with Gamma Live Wire XP before taking a hiatus of about a decade from playing tennis regularly. About 6 months ago I started back up with tennis, ditching basketball since it's a far riskier endeavor in the Covid world. I recently bought a reel of this thinking it was Live Wire XP, not realizing there is a non-XP version of the string. I didn't think anything of it until I started hitting and discovered the string just lacked a bit everything I liked about XP. It hit fine but didn't have the feel, the control, the pop, or the spin that I recalled - it was just kind of lifeless and felt flat. I was honestly stumped why I suddenly didn't enjoy playing with the string, and it was only at that point I realized it wasn't XP and I now know there is a big difference in playability.Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly cromulent and plays better than regular synthetic gut or cheap Poly but it's not much better than that. If you're entertaining trying out some Gamma Live Wire, BE SURE it's XP - that is a far superior string and worth any extra you'll pay. Now I just need to figure out how to get through the rest of this reel :(
