My wife and I like to go backpacking once a month or so during the warmer months, and I've been trying to pare down weight where I can. So I've replaced some of my shorter lengths of paracord with the 300 lb version of this line for things like tying out tents or tarps. It makes a perfect prusik on a paracord ridge line. This is an amazingly strong line and weighs just about nothing.Some knots need to be modified if you're "translating" from paracord use. For example, where I used to use a bowline, I now use a "perfection loop" with this fishing line. And hitches that hold just fine in paracord will need another wrap or two. But if you're willing to adjust, this line takes up almost no space at all in your pack and is extremely light. It comes in several colors, so I use yellow for short lengths and prusik loops and orange for longer lengths so it's easier to find what I need when I get to camp.Just don't use this line for lengths over 15 feet or so (unless you're actually fishing with it, I suppose) because it knots up easily if you're throwing it over a tree limb or dragging it over the ground as you wrap it up while breaking camp. Maybe a heavier weight of this line would work better for that, but I haven't tried it.
